TERMS & CONDITIONS

Last updated: September 2026

These Terms & Conditions apply to all purchases made from [SHOP NAME] (“we”, “us”, “our”), including purchases made through our website, social media, marketplaces, in person, or through any other sales channel operated by us.

By purchasing an item from us, you acknowledge that you have read and accepted these Terms & Conditions.

1. Nature of Our Goods

Our shop specialises in vintage and second-hand goods, including but not limited to:

  • Vintage and second-hand clothing
  • Vintage movie and television clothing
  • Film promotional merchandise and promotional items
  • Books and printed material
  • Vinyl records and other music-related items
  • Movie posters, prints and paper ephemera
  • Collectibles and other vintage merchandise

Unless expressly stated otherwise, all items are pre-owned, vintage, used, aged, or previously circulated goods.

Vintage goods are not expected to exhibit the same condition as newly manufactured products. Age, wear, fading, marks, repairs, alterations, discolouration, fabric deterioration, printing imperfections and other signs of use or age may be present.

2. Please Read the Description Carefully

Customers are responsible for carefully reading the complete item description and reviewing all available photographs before purchasing.

We endeavour to provide accurate, honest and detailed descriptions of every item, including its condition, apparent age, measurements, defects, alterations and other relevant characteristics where reasonably identifiable.

Photographs form an important part of each item’s description. If an item has a notable flaw or condition issue that we have identified, we will endeavour to disclose it in the listing.

Please do not rely solely upon an item’s title, photographs, brand name, estimated date or other single piece of information when deciding whether to purchase.

If you require additional measurements, photographs or clarification regarding an item before purchasing, please contact us. We are happy to provide additional information where reasonably possible.

3. Vintage Dating & Provenance

Any information provided by us concerning an item’s:

  • age or approximate date;
  • year or period of manufacture;
  • country of origin;
  • previous ownership;
  • historical use;
  • connection to a particular film, production, event, person or organisation;
  • provenance;
  • rarity;
  • edition or pressing;
  • authenticity; or
  • historical significance

is provided in good faith and to the best of our knowledge based upon the information and sources available to us at the time of listing.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, such information should be regarded as an opinion or informed assessment rather than an independently certified fact.

Vintage dating can involve interpretation, particularly where original tags, labels, receipts, packaging or other documentation are absent.

Where we have relied upon external references, catalogues, photographs, archives, publications, databases, auction records or other sources, the sources and/or information available to us will be identified or included in the relevant item listing where practicable.

We do not claim that our dating or provenance assessments constitute professional appraisal, archival certification or independent authentication.

4. Authenticity

We take authenticity extremely seriously.

We will never knowingly sell counterfeit, fraudulent or deliberately misrepresented goods.

Our descriptions are prepared honestly and in good faith based upon our examination of the item and the information and research available to us.

Where authenticity is uncertain or cannot reasonably be established, we will endeavour to make that uncertainty clear in the item description rather than presenting an unsupported claim as fact.

Where an item is described as vintage, original, authentic, genuine or otherwise connected with a particular production, release or period, that description represents our assessment based upon the evidence and information available to us.

We do not guarantee that an item will be accepted as authentic by every collector, expert, authentication service, marketplace or third party where authentication involves subjective assessment or where historical documentation is incomplete.

5. Condition of Vintage Goods

Vintage and second-hand items naturally carry signs of age and previous use.

Unless specifically stated otherwise, purchasers should expect the possibility of:

  • general wear;
  • fading;
  • stains or marks;
  • holes;
  • cracking or deterioration of prints;
  • fabric wear;
  • discolouration;
  • creasing;
  • repairs;
  • alterations;
  • missing labels or tags;
  • replacement components;
  • storage marks;
  • odours associated with age or storage; and
  • other age-related imperfections.

We endeavour to disclose significant condition issues that we identify. However, minor imperfections, age-related wear and characteristics consistent with the item’s age and previous use should not be treated as defects in the same way as defects in a new product.

Colours may also appear differently depending on photography, lighting, display settings and individual screens.

For clothing, measurements should be considered alongside the labelled size where one exists. Vintage sizing is often substantially different from modern sizing, and customers should rely on the provided measurements rather than assuming a modern equivalent.

6. All Sales Are Final

All sales are final. We do not accept returns or exchanges simply because a purchaser changes their mind, orders the wrong size, does not like the item upon receipt, or subsequently decides that they do not agree with our assessment of an item’s age, rarity, provenance, value or condition.

Because our inventory consists primarily of unique vintage and second-hand items, we generally cannot offer exchanges or substitute items.

However, nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes, restricts or modifies any rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded under applicable law, including rights that may apply under the Australian Consumer Law.

Where a statutory right applies, we will comply with our legal obligations.

7. Condition Disputes & Subjective Assessments

Vintage collecting can involve subjective opinions regarding age, authenticity, rarity, condition, originality and provenance.

A purchaser subsequently obtaining a different opinion from another collector, dealer, authenticator, appraiser, historian or other third party does not, by itself, establish that our original description was dishonest or deliberately misleading.

We cannot accept responsibility for differences between our good-faith assessment and a third party’s subsequent opinion where the item was accurately described according to the information reasonably available to us at the time of sale.

Similarly, differences in opinion regarding whether an item dates from one particular year, decade or production period do not constitute grounds for return where our listing clearly identified the dating as an estimate, opinion or assessment.

8. Research & Sources

We conduct research into our inventory wherever reasonably practicable.

The information presented with an item may be based upon a combination of:

  • our own examination;
  • historical photographs;
  • film and production records;
  • books and publications;
  • catalogues;
  • archival material;
  • collector information;
  • auction and sales records;
  • manufacturer information;
  • museum or institutional material;
  • publicly available databases; and
  • other information available to us.

All material information and sources available to us that have materially informed an item’s description will be included or referenced in the listing where practicable.

The absence of a particular source or piece of documentation does not necessarily mean that an item is inauthentic; conversely, the existence of a particular source does not necessarily constitute absolute proof of authenticity.

9. Measurements

Measurements provided for clothing and other physical goods are generally taken by hand and should be regarded as approximate.

Minor discrepancies may occur due to measuring technique, garment construction, stretching, shrinkage, age or other characteristics of vintage goods.

Purchasers are encouraged to compare the supplied measurements with a similar item they already own before purchasing.

10. Errors in Listings

We make reasonable efforts to ensure that listings are accurate and complete.

If we discover that an item has been materially and incorrectly described prior to dispatch, we reserve the right to contact the purchaser and, where appropriate, cancel the transaction and provide a refund.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions limits any legal rights arising from a material misrepresentation or other matter for which we are legally responsible.

11. Responsibility for Purchasing Decisions

By purchasing a vintage or second-hand item, the purchaser acknowledges that they have had the opportunity to:

  1. read the entire listing;
  2. examine all available photographs;
  3. review the stated measurements;
  4. review the stated condition;
  5. consider any disclosed uncertainty regarding age or provenance; and
  6. ask questions before purchasing.

Please purchase only when you are satisfied with the information provided.

We strongly encourage customers to contact us before purchasing if they require clarification about condition, measurements, dating, provenance or authenticity.

12. No Guarantee of Future Value

Any statements concerning rarity, collectability, desirability, market value or investment potential are opinions only.

We make no guarantee that an item will increase in value or retain its purchase price.

13. Third-Party Information

Where information supplied by a third party is incorporated into a listing, we will endeavour to identify it appropriately.

We do not represent that every historical claim contained in an external source is independently verified by us. Where appropriate, we will distinguish between documented information and our own interpretation or assessment.

14. Purchases Made Through Third-Party Platforms

Where an item is purchased through a third-party marketplace, the platform’s terms and applicable buyer-protection policies may also apply.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to override mandatory requirements imposed by the relevant marketplace or applicable law.

15. Fraudulent or Abusive Claims

We reserve the right to refuse future transactions with individuals who engage in fraudulent behaviour, knowingly make false claims, attempt to obtain refunds through dishonest means, return substituted items, damage goods after delivery, or otherwise abuse our returns or customer-service processes.

We will retain relevant photographs, descriptions, correspondence, postage records and other evidence where reasonably necessary to protect ourselves against fraudulent or dishonest claims.

16. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.

The Terms & Conditions applicable to a purchase will generally be those displayed or made available at the time the purchase is made.

17. Applicable Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws applicable in Australia, including the Australian Consumer Law where applicable.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to exclude, restrict or modify a consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified.

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO PURCHASERS

Our inventory is vintage and second-hand.

Please read the full description, inspect all photographs and review measurements before purchasing.

Our assessments of vintage dating, provenance, rarity and authenticity are made honestly and in good faith using the information and sources available to us and are identified as opinions or assessments where appropriate.

We do not knowingly sell counterfeit or deliberately misrepresented goods.

All sales are final subject to any rights and remedies that cannot legally be excluded under applicable law.

If you are unsure about an item’s condition, measurements, dating, provenance or authenticity, please contact us before purchasing.
